Event Recap Provided by Georgina Horrey

This was our last winter club night at Alexandria for 2006.

Thanks to the parents (Marion & Angela) who help with the timing, as usual, you have done an excellent job.

All swimmers put in a great effort with Chad cheering them on from the side of the pool.

Andrew Phillips managed to do three tumble turns in the 100 metre freestyle and his sister Amy swam a great race. Jerome Benhayon & Georgia Roberts always do their best entering all events. Mitchell Horrey & Daniel Romeo both tried their hardest in the 50 metre fly, coming out of the water “puffed”. Another great race is always between Vanesa Oleyar & Emma Aston and this week we also threw Anthony Romeo into the mix, with all finishing well. We welcomed Josh Romeo back this week and he still managed to beat Brad Horrey in the breast stroke. With the threat of 10 push ups if he crossed his legs during tumble turns, Brad managed to do the 100 free without crossing his legs once. Carly Riddoch & Deearne Pitscheider both swam very well against each other managing not to talk under water.

The swimmers enjoyed the Novelty Game of “Beep & Go” with Vanesa Oleyar and Daniel Romeo making it through to the final. Vanesa got there in the end when Daniel dived in at the wrong time – well done Vanesa, bad luck Daniel. Chocolates were given to all participants at the end of the races and we all had a great time
