After a ‘rough’ swim one week earlier in Bronte, some in the club couldn’t wait to get back into the ocean and get another feel for true open water conditions.
Bilgola offered just the treat, with a mid-sized swell and a consistent wave providing a great condition for a
1.5km swim.
To most everyone’s dismay, the event was held up due to a shark sighting.
Interesting that some of the dismay came from not being able to swim at 11am, and the other coming from having to eventually.
Seven club members took to the ocean: Clare Payne, Mick Bransby, Steven Hawksley, Richard Banks, Donna Williams, Phil Muscatello, and Chad Schneider.
All reported having a positive swim and enjoying the conditions.
Steven Hawksley became the fifth swimmer to be the club’s ‘first to finish’ on the day with a blistering finish.
Way to go Steve.

Thanks go to Lauren and Coco
for welcoming a bunch of us back to their little piece of paradise tucked
away on the harbour.
The weather provided just enough sunshine to make for a great day at the
beach. Well done to all on a great swim.
